 The existing rear patio cover was poorly considered for drainage and dangerously built. It was attached to the wood fascia board on rafter tails at one end and bearing on nothing at the other end -- just relying on one horizontal 2x4 scabed to the side of the wood columns which sit in gravel and mud, not concrete.
 Must be a leg bone she says!

 I made this setup in order to square the steel and make sure it's plumb in both directions. I continued to adjust with each bag of concrete I mixed and poured.
